1. Re: limone vs riva. Limone is charming but small, Riva has very good walks along the lake, some nice beaches and lots of restaurants. From Riva you can easily go to Limone and to Malcesine with the ferry and have a trip on the cable up monte Baldo with stunning views of the lake.
Other car ferries are available from Limone to Malcesine and in the high season also from Riva to Desenzano. The ferries usually have space for up to 35 cars and 300 people, and most have bars and restaurants. The ships sail several times a day from Peschiera del Garda to Garda, from Salò to Gargnano, from Riva to Malcesine and from Desenzano
3. Re: Hiking near Limone del Garda. We holidayed in Limone last year, and as has already been mentioned, most walks are really hikes, as it is so mountainous. Having said that, it is also so beautiful and the views are simply amazing. A really nice walk is up to the Comboni Missionery Centre.
